Job description

We are opening a position for a Linux Database Administrator to strengthen the team of our client based in Lyon.
This role is part of a Hybrid Cloud Product team, where the administrator will manage a range of relational and NoSQL database technologies. The main mission is to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement of database systems, with a focus on automation, performance, security, and availability, aligned with the vision of the Product Owner.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain high-performance, scalable databases tailored to business needs, following Product Owner guidelines.

  • Ensure comprehensive monitoring, performance tracking, and capacity planning for PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and MongoDB using native and third-party tools.

  • Lead the migration of databases toward container-based environments such as OpenShift or Azure Kubernetes Services.

  • Implement and integrate monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions in line with business and technical standards.

  • Analyze and optimize queries to enhance overall database performance.

  • Work closely with the Hybrid Cloud infrastructure team to ensure seamless integration.

  • Act as a mentor by sharing knowledge and supporting team members in their technical development.

  • Handle incident and request management efficiently, ensuring long-term sustainability.

Job requirements

  • University degree in a technical field and at least 5 years of experience managing complex on-premise database environments.

  • Proven hands-on experience with MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB in production settings.

  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools and techniques.

  • Solid Linux system administration skills, with experience in containerization being a major asset.

  • Strong team spirit, willingness to share knowledge, and ability to work independently.

  • Expertise in database containerization, including best practices, methodologies, and migration strategies.

  • Familiarity with deploying RDBMS and NoSQL databases on cloud platforms, especially Azure.

  • Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, PowerShell) and Microsoft TFS for PBI management.

  • Knowledge of ElasticSearch and/or Splunk would be considered a plus.
