Job description

We are recruiting a Data Platform Manager to strengthen our client’s team based in Nyon. This role is part of a major cloud data platform transformation initiative aimed at industrializing data services, improving operational reliability, strengthening governance, and accelerating the adoption of modern data practices across the organization.

Responsabilities

  • Lead and coordinate a team of Data Engineers, ensuring efficient planning, prioritization, and delivery of data initiatives.

  • Drive the industrialization of the Cloud Data Platform by implementing standards, best practices, documentation, and operational processes.

  • Establish and improve IT service management practices, including incident, change, problem, and request management.

  • Oversee and guide the evolution of the data technology stack, including Azure, Databricks, dbt, Fivetran, and Control-M.

  • Monitor platform costs and consumption, providing forecasts, optimization recommendations, and budget reporting.

  • Collaborate closely with Integration, Analytics, and BI teams to ensure seamless end-to-end data flows and service delivery.

  • Define governance models, service catalogues, KPIs, and operational frameworks to enhance platform adoption and efficiency.

  • Contribute to the long-term data strategy through roadmap definition, knowledge transfer, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job requirements

  • Proven experience managing enterprise Data Platforms and coordinating Data Engineering teams.

  • Strong understanding of the Azure ecosystem, including Cloud services, security, identity, networking, monitoring, and cost management.

  • Solid knowledge of Databricks and its production use cases, including jobs, notebooks, orchestration, Delta patterns, performance, and operational support.

  • Strong expertise in dbt, data transformation processes, data modelling, testing, documentation, and DataOps practices.

  • Hands-on experience with Fivetran and Control-M, particularly connector management, monitoring, orchestration, dependency management, and production tracking.

  • Proven experience in IT service management and managed services, with ITIL v4 Foundation certification or equivalent practical experience.

  • Ability to manage budgets, analyze Cloud consumption, develop forecasts, and identify cost optimization opportunities.

  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to interact effectively with technical teams, IT management, business stakeholders, and external providers.
