Job description

We are opening a Database Administrator (DBA) position to strengthen the technical teams of an organization based in Geneva. The role is part of a demanding IT environment where database availability, performance, and security are critical. You will contribute both to the reliability of existing systems and to the evolution of data architectures, within an international and collaborative setting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage, operate, and continuously improve multiple database technologies including Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

  • Handle database installation, configuration, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance across various environments.

  • Analyze and resolve technical incidents, proactively tune performance, and ensure robust backup and recovery processes.

  • Design and implement resilient architectures covering high availability, replication, and business continuity solutions.

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility while enforcing strict security standards.

  • Support development teams by providing technical guidance and performance optimization recommendations.

Job requirements

  • At least 3 years of proven experience in database administration roles.

  • Strong expertise in Sybase, Oracle, and SQL Server, with solid experience in multi-database environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Data Guard and RMAN for disaster recovery and high availability strategies is highly valued.

  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

  • Solid understanding of best practices related to database performance, backup, recovery, and security.

  • Awareness of data protection and compliance requirements.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
