Job description
We are opening a position for a Test Automation & Technical Test Lead to strengthen the team of one of our partners based in Zurich. The role is part of a large-scale IT program within a complex academic environment, combining hybrid architectures (cloud and on‑premise), advanced integration flows, and high expectations in terms of software quality. The mission aims to embed a structured, automated, and fully integrated testing approach throughout the development lifecycle, in close collaboration with business, development, architecture, and DevOps teams.
Job Responsibilities
Design, implement, and continuously improve automated test solutions for modern web applications
Develop, maintain, and execute reliable and reusable automated test scenarios
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and analyze execution results
Define and manage effective test data strategies across environments
Establish and drive the overall testing strategy for complex integration platforms
Design and coordinate API, integration, end‑to‑end, and streaming test approaches
Analyze system architectures to identify testing scopes, dependencies, and risks
Act as a technical reference by coaching teams on testing practices and automation standards
Job requirements
Strong hands-on experience in web test automation using Playwright and TypeScript
Solid expertise in API testing, including REST services, JSON payloads, and authentication mechanisms
Good understanding of modern web, distributed, and integration-based architectures
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and related tooling
Knowledge of integration ecosystems such as API management platforms and messaging or streaming solutions
Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and robust test architectures
Proven capability to define pragmatic, risk-based testing strategies
Experience working in agile or scaled agile environments with strong analytical skills
